Diversity and Inclusion

Here is the second version of the Equality Framework for Oxfordshire, brought together by Aseia Rafique and Vanisha Parmar, EDI specialists.

This has been the result of a collaborative process, working with volunteers, staff and trustees from 40+ different charities across Oxfordshire. The objective is to make progress in equity, diversity and inclusion faster, by working collaboratively across the County.

This document is just a starting point to motivate discussion, prioritisation and action within your organisations and community groups. To make this document more accessible we will be launching a companion website with resources and information in September 2021.

For more information or feedback, get in touch with us. If you use the framework to produce any work or resources, or to drive changes in your organisation, please get in touch, we'd love to feature your case study in the Resource Hub coming up this summer!

We are working to address our shortcomings in diversity and inclusion, and support the wider voluntary sector to do the same.

What we believe about diversity and inclusion

We are proud of the ways that we have given local people and communities a voice and power during the immediate response to coronavirus. However, there has to be more diversity and meaningful representation for marginalised groups within our work and team.

There is a lack of diversity in the way that individuals and communities have a voice within and with the voluntary sector. The same is true of Oxfordshire All In. Across all groups and communities, it is often those that we don't hear at all that need to be heard most.

A lack of diversity at board and senior management team level in the voluntary sector is also a well-researched and understood issue, as in many other areas, and again this is an area where we must do better.

What do you believe? We especially want to hear and publish your stories and experiences in relation to marginalisation and inclusion. Tell us here.

We have a Community Support Group Forum on Facebook which Community Support Group Organisers are welcome to join. It is a great place to share and discuss with other CSG organisers, as well as with the Oxfordshire All In team.

We host a regular programme of Virtual Workshops and Forums on Zoom which you can find out about here.

Independent OAI board established

We are inviting participation in a newly established independent Representation and Inclusion Board to oversee the work of Oxfordshire All In, and ensure that it is as representative and inclusive as possible of marginalised and hard to reach groups. of practical action (stories board, bring it all together).

One initial task of the Representation and Inclusion Board will be to make recommendations that enable us to design better ways for marginalised groups to join in with our work, and the work of partnerships/forums and organisations.

Please let us know here if you have an interest in being a member of this board.
