Why we exist

When Covid-19 started to have a dramatic impact on people and communities in Oxfordshire, we recognised the huge upswell in local community support.

From individuals helping neighbours, streets helping each other, and informal Community Support Groups doing amazing things, so many people pulled together.

We also recognised the urgent need for these people to be supported too, particularly by Public Bodies and the established Voluntary Sector.

People told us that they needed support that was nimble, effective, quick to act, and focused on their needs and local communities. They wanted simple answers to common questions, ways to have talk with and hold to account the public services they rely on. A network through which they could share their own ideas, initiatives and successes outside of their immediate areas.

Oxfordshire All In was born!

We know that this support is now needed more than ever while communities continue to respond to Covid.19 and also as we try to recover - stronger - together, and work to heal widening inequalities and injustices around us.

We are working alongside the many partners that have given this project a life of its own - we together, are Oxfordshire All In.

Let’s put people and communities first

Oxfordshire All In works for people and community organisations across Oxfordshire.

Why?

Our mission is simple: to help support a joined up approach to the response to and recovery from Covid-19 in Oxfordshire that is first and foremost community-led, fair, effective, and which reaches the most isolated and vulnerable as a priority.

How?

We are working with individuals, volunteer groups, community organisations and public bodies alike in the Oxfordshire response to Covid-19. Many partners are involved in making Oxfordshire All In what it is, and you can find out more about them here.

Our Strategy

MAPPING: Let’s understand and strengthen support in more isolated areas of the county

By mapping existing support and identifying challenges it is easier to work in coordination to meet them. Community Support Groups are being proactive in efforts to do this, and the more information and guidance we can give them to work with the better. Together, we can ensure that no one living in Oxfordshire is too isolated to be supported!

SUPPORTING: Assist the network of Community Support Groups across the County

There are tens of thousands of local people working to support their neighbours. These need clear and simple communication channels. Our back-end tools have opened a clear, simple and effective communication channel with Community Support Groups through a daily bulletin and forum for Organisers.

Reach people without internet access or IT literacy: We are working with Community Support Groups and established organisations on how to best support people without internet access.

COORDINATING: Providing tools for Volunteers, Community Organisations, Businesses and Public Bodies to work together

Data is useful to everyone, as are tools to streamline communication channels and the ability to develop in response to the need. We are working with an increasing number of organisations to develop a sophisticated platform that meets their needs.

SIMPLIFYING: Let’s work together to avoid duplication of effort and make our approach as effective as possible.

We want to make it easier for every group working in response to Covid-19 to understand what other work is taking place and coordinate approaches. Together, we can achieve this!
